Stamping For Card Making

Here are a few of my favorite tricks in one card.  Firstly, I love stamping.  This tree has been stamped and wet embossed.  Then I went over it with a little irridescent glitter.  The glitter is colorless - it’s just reflecting the green in the tree.  Then I have a little ribbon, by tying it to the card front before I glue it down, it doesn’t show in the middle of the card.  That is one of the beautiful things about making a card front - you can add all of your dimensional elements (brads, eyelets, lace, ribbon, etc) and they won’t show through to the middle of the card.

Another of my favorite tricks showcased here - you know I love 2 sided patterned cardstock for card making.  I like to cut a sheet in half and make 2 6″ x 6″ cards.  But, by making a 4″ x 6″ card front, I can make 6 cards from one sheet of the good stuff.  Then I just layer the card front on to a 5″ x 7″ card and make the A7 envelope to match.

Here’s the inside - I’ve created a mat for my sentiment.  I may stamp or just hand write in that space.  I’ll use an opaque gel pen (usually white, silver or gold) and sign on the green cardstock below the sentiment block.
