Creating Cards For the Whole Year!

Maybe it seems a little early for Mother’s Day - but I like to make up a year’s worth of cards in January.  I make as many cards as I know I’ll need - and then I’ll still have plenty to make up during the year - for those occasions that I didn’t know about!  There are too many events that creep up on me that I have to have the ones I know about prepared for!  For example, my son is graduating from High School in May - I made his card already, and cried the whole time!  Birthdays, holidays, and annual events are all occasions that I know I’ll need the cards for.  But then there will retirement parties, baby showers, and weddings, etc that will occur and I’ll need to make those cards up as I find out about them!

I do, however, have a few of those cards on hand - with no names or personalization yet.  Just a little trick of the trade.  I can always add a stamped or printed sentiment later!  Here’s an example of a printed sentiment.  I love vellum paper.  For this card, I just printed onto vellum, and inked the edges before I adhere it to the card.  A little bit of vellum adhesive - and it looks like it is floating on top!

This is a 5″ x 7″ (A7) card and envelope made from the wonderful templates at Green Sneakers!
