Card Making Tips and Techniques 5

missing-you-copy-2.jpg

This is featuring two of my favorite card making techniques.  I’ve recently fall in love again with alcohol inks.  Actually, though, this technique can be accomplished by using any dye ink, as well.  It’s about making your own background papers and then stamping on top of that.  Here I used the alcohol inks to create a mottled purple background, and then stamped with a french blue color dye ink on top.  The end result is subtle and the butterflies seem to just be floating on a cloud.

My other favorite technique in this card is using different size punches to layer.  Here I punched out the paper where I had stamped “Missing You”, and then punched a slightly larger version from a coordinating color.  Making cards featuring just these two techniques would still leave you endless options!  But we’re going to be featuring even more yet!  Stay tuned! And we’re still hashing out the details of our next Blog Card Making Challenge!
