This isn’t a hard and fast rule - but I find it a useful tip: I like to try to coordinate my ink colors with the papers and the theme of the card. In this card the “Wish You Were Here” sentiment was stamped on in the same color as the darker ink in the paper print. This almost lets one think the paper had it printed on there! And the celedon green mat for the stamp art is the same shade as some of the green in the print. Again, no one would think this a necessity, and a lot of card makers like to mix and match their colors - but if you’re looking for an even cohesion of color, theme, and composition, it’s sometimes achieved most easily when the elements coordinate to begin with.

This is an A7 (5″ x 7″) card that fits its coordinating A7 envelope.
